Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio

I had a siding contractor come to my home and say I had a claim for hail damage. I signed a form stating that I would use the contractor if I had a valid insurance claim. My insurance company did send me a check for the claim. I do not want to use this contractor. Am I legally bound to use this contractor?

You may be able to legally "cancel" your contract with the siding contractor. This will depend on what was written on the form you signed, how long it has been, and some other factors. If you do have the right to cancel your contract, you need to make sure that you do it in the proper way. Even then, the contractor may attempt to sue you for money, but if you get the advice of a competent consumer law attorney and do everything "by the book," you will be better off if this does occur.
