Separating the LLC into divisions can just be done as an accounting function. The financials can be separated or consolidated. If you choose to operate the divisions under different names, you can file fictitious names or trade names for each name. If you want to separate the liabilities of the divisions, you could take it a step further and set up separate wholly owned LLCs for one or more of the divisions. With more information, your accountant and/or attorney might suggest other strategies or things to consider.
