Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
starting an online casino
i was just curious whether or not it is legal to start an online casino in ohio. the casino would be part of an affiliate program in which the software and gaming license would be owned by another company who I would essentially be working for. they are licensed in another country (can't remember which one)

Re: starting an online casino
Without research, my instinct is that a local prosecutor would be inclined to prosecute such a business as unlicensed gambling. Hire an attorney to review the matter and perhaps to seek a written opinion from the Ohio Attorney General. It might be interesting if you established your internet access from a state which permits gambling (with a billing address and rented office location in Nevada or New Jersey, for example) and then merely accessed it, or permitted it to be accessed from Ohio computers. With today's technology, it seems increasingly challenging to provide hard and fast answers to such questions.
