Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Being Sued for Breach of Contract
I am being sued for a breach of contract that relates to a business I didn't own nor that I worked for. My roommate and a friend ran a chain of pizza stores under and LLC. I never worked for the company, but more or less for a couple of weeks I helped them get a second store setup so they wouldn't be spread too thin. I was approached by their advertiser to sign some paperwork for their advertising. She told me I wouldn't be held responsible if they didn't pay or something happened. Now the business went under 4 months after I was ''gone'' and I am the only one they could locate. They are sueing me for $1300 the cost of the rest of the contract even though they were still doing advertising with the company long after I was even around. What can I do? I don't have the money and I certainly would not have signed something for a business I didn't own or work for. I signed for food trucks the few weeks I was there, but I didn't have to pay for the food. I don't have the money at the time to get a lawyer either. Should I counter sue for court costs and loss of wages because I will be missing work at my new job which I hope I don't loose and I know that it doesn't look good to them since I haven't been there even three months. Please help.

You need a lawyer to avoid being found liable...You have to contest this.
