Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Unfair termination
I was terminated today (not given a reason). I work on commission only (no employment contract). I started this net mortgage branch with him 1 1/2yrs ago (everything could only be put in one persons name, I let him). I have 14 purchase loans that are in my pipeline to close within the next 1-5 weeks. These are people who have sold their homes and have people moving into their homes the same time they are supposed to move into their new homes. I have been blocked out of our system (& customer v.m. & e-mails)-can't work on any of the loans & he is kicking me out of my office by tomorrow. What can I do?

Re: Unfair termination
This question is too fact-based for me to provide a legal answer. I would need a lot more facts in order to answer. However, you should tell your boss to work with you to complete the 14 loans only. Otherwise, you have very unhappy customers shortly who may sue you and your boss if you are handling these loans through his mortgage brokerage license. Your boss and you can resolve the commission issue later.
