Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
Can you be banned from a public establishment?
I was about to enter a bar that I frequented where I have a lot of friends who are employees. They were charging a cover charge (which I NEVER paid because my friends would just let in) so I asked the new doorman if I could talk to the manager (who I thought I knew). He said I had to pay and there was nothing he could do (in a very cocky manner). I told him I wasn't paying and he could shove the place up his ***. Granted, I may have overeacted, but I was angry and disgusted.
So I later found out from one of my friends that works there that I was banned from the establishment by the manager. Can I legally be banned from a public establishment for voicing my opinion and leaving when I didn't agree with their policy? There was no crime committed or law broken.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Re: Can you be banned from a public establishment?
If it's a privately owned bar, then it is not a public place. The owner of any property has the right to exclude anyone, as long as it is not because of race, creed, color, etc.
sorry
