Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

Carrying a knife to and from work environment

I work in retail and was given a regular box cutter. After a couple of days I found the blade began cutting a hole into my pocket and i began losing items. Upon that incident i began carrying a 3 inch knife. Many people have asked me if it is legal. Am I bound by any codes in Ohio which present me from carrying my ''oversized box cutter''? It is clearly displayed at all times. I do not make any attempts to hide it.

If the Ohio law says no blades over 3 inches, then you are breaking the law, whether you want to call it a box cutter or not. Get a cover for the box cutter and use what they gave you at work, and then only at work.

The knife is definitely illegal. You will be charged with a a potential six month jail sentence. You can defend yourself by saying that this is a tool, but that will not avoid the trouble.
