Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
defamation
Is it considered defamation when a person lies to the police to embellish a harrassment complaint? Could I collect damages? Is he criminally liable as well? Thank you.

Re: defamation
Lying to police could constitute a felony charge by itself. Also, that person may very well be liable in a civil court. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Ed DiCato
