Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
'' Filing charges with EEOC''
I am filing a discrimination claim with the EEOC against my employer. Ohio also has it's own civil rights commission. my question is do I have to file with both of these organizations? My company is headquarted in Illinois but I of course work in Ohio.

Re: '' Filing charges with EEOC''
You probably can file an action in either state. The residence of the defendant, or in your case, its principal place of business is one jurisdictional choice. The place where the tort occurred is another. Your rightts are likely cummulative, and you have a right to sue either in the state court or in the federal system. You should check the statutes covering your situation, you should make the decision on where to sue, on the basis of the greatest rights granted in the statutes, and, of course, your convenience.
