Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
Is it legal for students to petition banning a street preacher from a university campus that is paid for by the PUBLIC TAX-PAYERS? What are they banning if they do this, considering the school is not supporting this man.. I'm writing an English paper in favor of the preacher.

The preacher has a first amendment right to express himself. That is the issue you should research. Caselaw from the US Supreme Court has long acknowledged the right of any citizen to express their beliefs in public ... If 300 million people signed the petition he could still speak his mind. The only limitation on his speech is whether he is creating dangerous chaotic conditions ... Such as yelling "fire" in a movie theater. Many supreme court cases support his argument... Find those.
