Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
Does a police officer have a right to ask for consent to search your vehicle during a routine traffic stop and the police officer saying that there is NO particular reason for him wanting to search the car other than him just wanting to search it because he asks to search over 90 percent of the vehicles that he pulls over? Is the question in itself for asking to search the car with NO probable cause, a violation of rights?

The officer can always ask. You just have to say no.
