Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
Removing girlfriend from my house
My girlfriend and I have been living together for 2 yrs in a house that I own. We do not get along at all anymore. I have asked her to move out but the police say she does not have to and that 50% of everything is hers if she does decide to leave. I have made every house payment and have bought everything in the house. Is this True? How do I go about getting her out? What are my rights and what rights does she have? We also have 2 boys which I have made clear that are welcome to stay.No paternity test have been done nor did I sign birth certificates. I am now staying at my parents house and she is living in my home with the boys. I do not want the boys to have to go through the arguments & fights anymore.

Re: Removing girlfriend from my house
You are not married, and do not need a divorce lawyer. You need to evict her. Never accept legal advice from a police officer. That is not what they do. You need a lawyer to evict her, period.
Also, you need to establish your rights as father, until you do, you are not the father. That happens in Juvenile court.

You should retain the services of a Divorce and Custody attorney. while you are not married, you have entangled yourself in some of the same legal situations. The police are not the decision makers when it comes to your house and personal property, your attorney will advise you on evicting your girlfriend. Consult a local attorney before taking ANY action.
