Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

student right to have parent present

Disciplinary action taken by principal at high school, meeting with student in which student stated would not have meeting with principal and teacher invovled in incident until parent was here, and student gave them number where parent could be reached. Principal denied student right to have parent present and said must have meeting without parent. Is this against student right to have parent present. Parent has given school writtin notice that no meetings with student shall take place without parent present.

Re: student right to have parent present

If interrogation was done and serious action was contemplated, student had a right to have parent present. Consult a lawyer in your town.
