Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

I had to have an MRI done on my hand. I don't go back to the doctor to get the results till next Tuesday My Boss at work came up to me today and already knew my results. Is the Doctor's and Hospital's aloud to tell my employer my results before they tell me or even tell them at all?? thank you
