Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

Wrongful Conviction

In '94 I was convicted of arson and breaking and entering. When I went to seek employment the employer told me there was a case of man slaughter conviction not arson. Upon investigating I found that other people have also seen this. I am afraid this may have been the reason I have not been able to gain employment. Although, I do disclose that I was convicted of a felony. My question is how should I pursue this matter and what type of lawyer should I retain?

Re: Wrongful Conviction

The only thing you can really do is get an expungement but only if you're eligible...that 94 crime needs to be the only crime in your adult life....you can pay for a background check and see what comes up and then go from there...
