Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio
Wrongful Termination
I am a police Officer. Two years ago I was fired after my employer utilized a covert kel-unit taping of a selection of solcited questions directed to me from my employer. My Chief and his Administrative Captain were involved in some highly questionable activities with illegal and unethical tactics. I was asked questions about them to determine what specific information I would have about thier activities. The answers I gave were bland, however I was very honest of my opinion about them when asked. An official investigation was brought to my attention and subsequently I was later disciplened with time off for my honest opinion from the solicited questions. Initially the discipline that my Chief and his Captain attempted was termination. Shortly there after I was disciplined again because I was told I disobeyed a direct order. At the very start of the second disciplinary action I was fired with no evidence of the false claim. I was told the first disciplinary action was utilized as part of a progressive disciplinary action to fire me the second time. I simply was a whistle blower and lost my job for it. I spent close to a year and have got my job back. My employers are still presently after me. Help, I need an att.

Re: Wrongful Termination
Where's your union rep? YOu should have protected by the whistleblower statute. You also may have waited too long. Has it been over a year??
