Is it illegal for a security gaurd to continue questioning you after you asked to speak to a lawyer?

No. If a police officer questions a suspect who has demanded to speak to a lawyer, then the answers to those questions (and any evidence obtained as a result of those answers) will be inadmissible at trial. But this rule applies only to the police and not to private security guards. Any answers the suspect gives under these circumstances will be admissible.
