At least call the above lawyer: it's not easy to get this sort of case through court and you need it done correctly. Essentially, you have to decide whether to file at the state or federal level, and in large part it is determined by the judges at trial level. The federal appeals court is fairly pro-prosecution in the 6th circuit, so it won't be easy.
