Legal Question in Construction Law in Ohio

My husband was helping a neighbor who is a construction worker with building a roof on a new house. He fell off the roof and broke his arm and his pelvis. Who is responsible for the hospital bills?

Re: construction liability
Dear Injured Neighbor: Without any contractual agreement, in writing and signed by both parties, you were a gratuitous "helper" or good samaritan. You were, clearly and essentially, a volunteer, not an employee, contractor, or subcontractor.
Accordingly, while I empathize with you for your injuries, by virtue of your role, you are not entitled to compensation for your injuries.
Good luck.
Sincerely, J. Norman Stark
