Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
My children's school had spring pictures taken. The company sent home a portrait package and wants me to pay for it. I did not solicit the pictures or order the package in any way. It is apparently a school fundraiser. Does this fall under ohio law as an unconditional gift because I didn't order it, even though I did not tell them ahead of time not to photograph my child?

In Ohio, the Consumer Sales Practices Act gives certain protections to consumers, and this would be a situation covered under the act. If a "supplier" of goods (in this case the picture company) sends you something unsolicited, you do not have to pay for it. If they try to charge you, then they would be in violation of the CSPA and you should speak with an attorney about it. If this is in the central Ohio area, you can reach me at [email protected].
