Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
construction contract completion date missed
building a garage in the contract it was to be completed by june 15. it is still not finished. can i deduct any money from the balance owed? he received money from me in march and was to start that friday. he did not. it has been one lie after another. please help. thank you libby

Since the contractor has breached the contract you can terminate his services and sue him for the cost to finish assuming that you have paid the contractor in full. I would give him a deadline and stick to it. If you want you can hire an attorney andue the contractor under the consumer sales practices act which calls for triple damages and attorney fees.
