Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
Contractor's bill
I received a lump-sum bill from a contractor. I
requested an itemized bill, in order to determine
labor and material charges. He refused to
comply. May I legally refuse to pay the bill unless
an itemized one is submitted to me? Note: I had
received via an intermediary party (my renter) a
lump-sum estimate of the job cost.

Re: Contractor's bill
You are still be liable for the debt, but if you fail to pay the bill he will probably either sue you or place a mechanics lien on your property. Upon suit you can get a detailed list of the charges in the discovery process.
