Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
Geothermal warranty transfer with the sale of a business
My Geothermal heating/cooling system has a 50-yr
warranty on the loops. Recently, a leak in the loops has been detected. The company that installed this system has been sold. Upon calling this 'new' company and stating my problem they claim that they only bought the assets, not the warranties. What recourse do I have in getting my problem fixed? The cost to fix this problem is ~$5-10K.

You can try to go against the manufacturer. Did the seller have an independent warranty company issue the warranty. If so you can go against them.
This is the reason I am reluctant to get a life time warranty. Whose lifetime are you using?
