Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
Insurance Agency Lost my Payment
On Feb.27 I had sent payment to my insurance agency express mail. I have the receipt and tracking information that says that it was received and who received it.
The insurance company claims that it was never received and is asking for an additional payment to reinstate my policy.
The payment was made in 2 checks and the remainder was cash. I am assuming that it was opened and stolen by someone within the company.
My question is isn't this insurance company, that did receive and sign for my payment, liable?

Re: Insurance Agency Lost my Payment
Cash!? No one will believe you sent cash, and with cash you can NOT prove payment. Don't even bother fighting this, you won't win. Their position will be you did not make full payment, and you can not prove otherwise. From now on you MUST pay by check, money order or cashiers check.
