When signing a legal contract is it a legal and binding contract if one signs using a nicknme such as Bob for Robert, Chuck for Charles, Bill or Will for William, Ect?

yes as long as you are consistent. If your deed is in the name of "Bob" then it has to be transfered to the next purchaser from "Bob".
