Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
paying on credit cards
i recently stop paying on two of my credit cards, because the intrest was just two high, and i just couldn't afford the monthly payment anymore. now lawyers are coming after me to pay off the balance. my question is this, can a lawyer or a collections agency turn down any amount that i tell them that i can pay monthly? I mean if I only tell them that i can only afford $10 a month, can they reject that?

Re: paying on credit cards
The credit collection agencies can accept anything less than full payment. Their option is to either accept the payment or sue you and eventually garnish your wages or clean out a bank account.
