Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
Down payment reinbursement
I bought a car and put $800.00 down. And now the bank has decided not to finance the car. This is after thinking the deal was all done. The car dealer is now saying that because we have had the car for 2 weeks that they are going to keep $200.00 when we return the car. The car is in better condition now than when we bought it. New tail lights I installed and a full tank of gas. Can they do this? Wouldn't this be extortion? Thank you.
