Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
Who has the rights to a car
In october my girlfriend and I bought a car. Because I don't drive. The dealer ( I thought made me the co-signer and we put the car in her name. So she is or was the buyer. I found out that in the contract from the dealer that I am the buyer, not the co-signer. The car is registered in her name but I am the buyer. In a split up. Who has the right to the car. Her or I, we both make the payment together. Mostly me than her.

Re: Who has the rights to a car
Since the vehicle is in her name there is a presumption that the vehicle is hers. However, you will need to show that you were co-owners. that can be done with the purchse agreement showing you as the purchaser and cancelled checks and any other pertinent information.
Good Luck!!!!
