Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio
what are my rights ?
On 9/15/00 I purchased a used car for my son. The purchase was through a used car dealer. Today 9/22/00 the belt tensioner went out causing the water pump & the serpentine belt to go out also. All told, the repair bill is an estimated $308.00. Presuming the engine has not been damaged.
Is there any protection for a consumer?

Re: what are my rights ?
If you purchased the car "As Is," with no warranty, it is unlikely you can hold the dealer responsible for the cost of the repair. Check your contract and the terms of your deal. At least try discussing the problem with the dealer. S/he may be willing to work something out as a gesture of good will, if nothing else. Good luck.
