Unless your lease says something about this situation, generally you are stuck with the lease. You can be stuck with the rent for the duration of the lease if the landlord is unable to re-lease the apartment. People in Ohio generally have some options (abandonment, subletting, assigning the lease, settlement with the landlord, etc.) I do not know if these options are available to you in your specific situation.
Your landlord has to make a good faith effort to re-let the apartment, as well. You should contact an attorney in your area who can help you with this matter and inform you as to what solutions are available for your specific situation and which ones are better for you given the costs and benefits of each.
