In Ohio, the answer to your question depends upon the manner in which the sale was conducted. The Consumer Sales Practices Act gives consumers (people purchasing the item for personal, household, or non-business use) a great many remedies if the store did not cross the 'i's and dot the 't's with the paperwork during the sale. For instance, if the store misrepresented anything about the item as to is quality or why it was on sale, that would violate the CSPA. Further, if the store sold you a product and the terms of the sale were completely one sided, then this could be a basis for a CSPA violation. Further, if the store sold you something on terms that there was no likelihood that you would be able to pay for it or on terms that made it so you could not benefit from it, these would be violations of the CSPA.

The problem is that without the specifics details of the sale and a chance to review the paperwork, there would be no for an attorney to speak authoritatively upon what your rights would be.
