Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

i am 23 recent college grad now teaching recently found out there is a garnishment on my checking account when i inquired about it, I was told this credit occured in the year 2000 when I was 14 yrs old. It is obvious this is not my debt. I filed a fraud complaint but was told probably nothing would come of it. The address in question I have never lived at. The debt collector is Midland Funding and I have offered proof of my age when this occurred, they insist I will still have to pay. What do I do. An attorney will probably cost me as much if not more than they say I owe which is 1700.00

You need to dispute the debt via a letter. The company has to provide proof of a debt in order to come after you. Often, debt collectors are unable to do this and will stop once a letter is sent to them. I have a lot of clients who have similar problems and have been able to obtain favorable results for them. I am sure that I can do the same for you. My rates are reasonable compared with other attorneys.

I would be happy to represent you in this action. Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or at 330-447-7634. I am happy to help in any way that I can.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
