Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio
I was awarded a judgement against former tenants for back rent and damages. No payment has been made. How do I get them to pay
1 Answer from Attorneys
There are a couple of things that you can do. One would be to have an attorney write a letter to them to set up a payment plan. Sometimes a letter from an attorney will scare them enough to force them to start paying. Another would be to subpoena them and bring them to court for a creditor's exam, also referred to as a debtor's exam. You would want an attorney for this and I would be happy to help. The purpose of this would be to make them disclose all of their assets so you know what you can attach in order to satisfy the debt. Also, if you know where they work you can garnish their wages.
