Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Bankruptcy filed after divorce

My wife and I divorced in 2000. In the divorce papers it states that each of us is responsible for debts in our own names (it doe's not mention debt in both names). My ex is currently in the process of declaring bankruptcy and therefore I am harassed for her debt as well. If she doesn't include me in her divorce as a creditor, what steps can I take, if any, to make her responsible for debts she agreed to pay for in the divorce? In serious financial ruin! Thanks for your help.

Re: Bankruptcy filed after divorce

If she includes in her bankruptcy those debts that she is now ordered to pay in the divorce, you must file a motion to show cause in contempt in the divorce court where the judgment was issued, as she is in contempt of the court order.
