Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio
Collection of debts
I have lost my job and am about $35000 in debt. All except about $2000 are unsecured debts. I am past due on all about 6 months. What is the best and worse case scenario that the creditors could do?
Thank You

Re: Collection of debts
The worst things that a creditor can due is take you to court and get a judgment against you. If that occurs, a creditor can do one of many things to collect the judgment from you, including but not limited to, wage garnishment, bank garnishment, placing a lien on your home, possibly foreclosing on your home if you own real estate, or requesting a sheriff's sale to sell your personal property.
If your in that much debt, I would highly suggest you contact an attorney who could review your case, determine what sort of defenses you may have, and try and settle these matters before they get more out of hand.
