Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio
cosigner nightmare
I was married many years ago and divorced young and uninformed. Now almost 8 years after cosigning for a truck for my husband I have a lien judgment against me. I know the responsibilties of a cosigner, and am a more than responsible woman. But after years of strugle my life is about to disappear. I dont know what to do. I am now single, have two children that I support myself, and can not afford to pay this debt back myself. If my wages are garnished I will be sunk along with my children. What do I do??

Re: cosigner nightmare
You or an attorney should contact the creditor to see if you can work out a payment arrangement rather than have your wages garnished. Your employer probably won't look to fondly upon an employee's wages being garnished because that means extra paperwork for your employer to fill out on a regular basis. Feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
