Credit card for mentally handicap person

son,(52) mental handicaped,applied for credit card, withonly phone #, ss# and date of birth. signed name.he is on ssi and getting 560.00 mo.can't read or write past 2 grade. can i stop this?he is in agreement with me when i explained he would have to pay interest and he doesn't have extra money. why can they send a credit card without checking him out? and how do i go about doing this?

Contact credit card company with proof of his disability and ask them to cancel. I doubt you will have a problem.
