In Ohio, if the contract between the creditor and the debtor provides for interest on an unpaid debt or reasonable late fees, then the bill collector can attempt to get those as well without running afoul of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

If the creditor himself/herself/itself if the one attempting to collect the debt, then the FDCPA does not come into the matter. But the creditor can still only recover what is authorized by the agreement between the parties as the amount due.
