Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio
Changes in Judgement amount
A judgement was recieved against me in the amount of 707.28 + 10% interest and $156 court costs...I have been paying through a wage garnishment for 3 months and have paid more than $900 and according to a court clerk there hasnt been a notice to stop the garnishment at this rate i will have paid more that 1200 by the end of June...My question is how exactly is the interest calculated and is there any other reason the amount would continue to go up?

Re: Changes in Judgement amount
Your employer should stop garnishing your wages when the "total probable amount due" has been paid. Make sure the payroll department is aware of the total amount due and the amount that has been paid. If nobody looks at this figure the garnishments might just contiue on indefinately.
