Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

when my mother was ill and she gave me power of attorney. she needed to go into an assisted living facility, so I placed her into one but the lease was in her name but I signed for her. she died two months into the lease but they are saying my mother owes them some money and that I'm responsible for it. I'm saying get it from her estate which belongs to the state of ohio. I'm I responsible for my mother debt just because I had a power of attorney?

If you signed the lease in your capacity as your mother's power of attorney, then you should not be liable for your mother's debt. I would need to see the lease agreement to give you a better answer.
