Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Recvd voicemail at work from a 1-877 number. Lady stated she needed to get a pre trial statement from me for a case against me for intent to commit fraud? I have a 4 Internet pay day loans about 4 years ago that seriously put ,e in the whole. Since then I have paid my bills and have any outstanding medical bills that were due on a Payment plan so I am paying my bills. When I called the number back it just rings. How do I know I'd this is a legitimate bill and if I really stil owe something? I don't want to find out I missed something and then end up in court

Sounds like a scam. In Ohio, a court is without jurisdiction tuition at judgement against someone who has not been served with process of the law suit. Were a court to find that you owed something without your having proper notice of the lawsuit you could make a motion to have the judgment vacated aside. Further I would think that is a court case has been filed by company Then that company would have to have a lawyer To represent its interests in court. Ohio law has consistently held that companies can only be represented in court by lawyers. Is the company suing you had a lawyer Why would someone be calling you who was not a lawyer?

Since it is likely a scam and in violation of the FDCPA You should probably call the Federal Trade Commission and lodge a complaint. Just log the times that the person calls and the number they called from. Then turn that information over to the FTC.
