Hire a lawyer and if you can't afford a lawyer ask the judge to appoint one for you. Also, don't post on message boards the true facts of your case. The posts can be used as your own statements against you. There is a distinction in the law between ownership of a piece of property and possession. I can hold your wallet and therefore I possess it. But it is still yours. Just because the knife was not yours does not mean they can't charge you with possessing it.
