Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
I am 17 years old, and i wrote a statement about a student teacher relationship going on at my ex girlfriends school. the only evidence i had, were texts, so the officer had me sign something and give him my number, and my service provider.. but i have texts about underage drinking and using marijuana. will i get in trouble? the officer said he wouldn't look through my personal texts, but i texted my ex also, so he will see that.

Yes...once you gave the officer information about a crime, he has the right to subpoena all the texts of all the people you talked about. He will see everything you've ever texted. When he indenitfies a crime, it's his job to further charge everyone he finds to be violating the law. It's then up to the Court.
I have seen many cases where crimes are being recorded, discussed, and committed. Texts are permanent records that are easily available to police and attorneys. So be extremely careful. Contact me directly if you need. 216.952.1990....
