accused of stealing diamonds but innocent

i went to my to my wife's jeweler,he wanted to borrow money.i said i could find him to lend him for a finder's fee.he paid 250.00 to me then no 1 would lend him because he owes the irs,state of ohio and couldn't even pay his 4,000.00 lease,so he made accusations to the sheriff detective,that i stole diamonds from him i wasn't even looking at any diamonds.he and his son gave me a prommisionary note to show potential investors and brochures.What can i do the detective wants to meet with me on monday?I told the detective to look at the video tapes,he said the diamond store don't have any?CAN I PRESS CHARGES ON HIM FOR SLANDER?CAN THEY ARREST ME?THERE IS NO PROOF BECAUSE I'M INNOCENT PLEASE EMAIL ASAP,&TELL ME IF I CAN SUE HIM FOR CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR ACCUSATIONS/MY EMAIL IS [email protected] MY 56MONTH&10YEAR OLD AND WIFE ARE DEPENDING ON THIS ANSWER?

I think you need to revaluate your priorities. Much of your question is focused on how you can retaliate against this jeweler for making a false accusation when you should be focused on how do you prove to the police that the accusation is false. The accusation that you stole diamonds is almost certainly an accusation that you committed a felony offense. You should not agree to talk to the sheriff without an attorney to represent you. It is important that you contact a competent criminal attorney in your area immediately to help you with this issue.
