What are affidavits and petitions? My sister is in the process of probation violations. I want to address the court to get het mental health problems. I want get her treatment for the mental problems and drug /alcohol problems.

If anyone cannot be present at the Hearing, they should submit an affidavit, which is a statement that is notorized. They really must be there to be have any effect, and that includes any counselors that may have an opinion.

Affidavits are sworn statements. Petitions are requests made to the Court.
