Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Arms Discharge
My brother and I are being charged for discharging firearms within city limits. The citation is an M1. This is a first offense. I requested a public defender. I'm a student in college and am afraid I might serve time and fail the semester. Is it common for this charge to include jail time?

Re: Arms Discharge
Generally, I would not expect jail time if this is a first offense. However, each case is fact specific and the court you are in is important. I would advise you to talk to your public defender or the attorney you end up hiring. Good Luck
