Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
arraignment
if a person is hospitilaized or somehow has a legitimate excuse and cannot make it to his first scheduled arrairgment can someone not an attorney go to court explain it and get a new arraigment date

A lawyer would simply fax a notice. A friend might work, but writing your own letter and calling it a Motion for Continuance would be acceptable. Call if you want me to fax something for you. 216.952.1990
