Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
i was arrested for domestic violence when we got to a pre trial hearing i was told the domestc violence charge would be dropped if i plead to disorderly conduct i find out years later instead of the charge being dropped it was just amended to disorderly conduct is there anything i can do about this

In Ohio, when a case is plea bargained out, the charges are amended rather than dropped. The effect is the same, since the more serious charge is dropped and that less serious charge is substituted in. The way to go from here if you want to get the entire thing off your record is to file for expungement if you are eligible.
