You will want to hire an attorney but it sounds like you may have a self-defense defense. In addition, putting off this trial may be beneficial as the Ohio legislature is currently discussing what is sometimes called the "Castle Doctrine" which would strengthen you defense and protect you from potentially being sued in the future.
