Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

background checks

I live in Ohio. 9 years ago I pleaded guilty to Ohio revised code 2925.03 ' trafficking in drugs'.

I think it was a felony of the 3rd degree. I was fined and put on probation for a year. It's my only record.

I recently got laid off after 33 years with the same company. In looking for a new job should I disclose this information? Is my record available to the public? Can it ever be expunged?

Also, was my lawyer or the courts supposed to give me some type of document explaining what rights I forfeited? Example--voting or firearm restrictions

Thanks

Re: background checks

YOU MUST EXPUNGE YOUR RECORD IMMEDIATELY.

AS SOON AS YOU OBTAIN ANY OTHER CONVICTION IN YOUR LIFE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXPUNGE THE FELONY.

NO ONE WAS REQUIRED TO TELL YOU ANYTHING ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF THAT CONVICTION. BUT YOU WERE ABLE TO VOTE ALL THIS TIME...THAT IS A HUGE MISUNDERSTANDING ABOUT FELONIES - YOU CAN VOTE - YOU CANNOT OWN OR POSSESS A FIREARM, BUT IF YOU EXPUNGE YOUR CONVICTION YOU START OVER.

CALL ME DIRECTLY TO GET THING GOING OR IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. YOU NEED TO ACT THOUGH.
